WWE issues statement following news of Brock Lesnar potential USADA drug test

first_img Is Jon Jones Set To Return To The UFC? July 16, 2016 at 1:40 am Will Bobby Lashley Finally Face Brock Lesnar? TheCyberZon SteelCity1981 reached out to WWE earlier this evening after it was revealed in a statement by the UFC that current WWE star Brock Lesnar was flagged for a potential USADA drug test violation stemming from a test back on June 28.In response, WWE issued the following statement late Friday night.“Brock Lesnar has not performed for WWE since WrestleMania and is not scheduled to return until Sunday, August 21.”So, it would appear WWE is distancing itself from the situation for the time being.Recommended videosPowered by AnyClipBraun Strowman Still Not Cleared For MatchVideo Player is loading.Play VideoPauseUnmuteDuration 0:33/Current Time 0:04Loaded: 100.00%0:04Remaining Time -0:29 FullscreenUp NextThis is a modal window.Beginning of dialog window. Lesnar was making the biggest payday ever in the fight and seemed to want to jump back into UFC. He knows that if the test results come out after the fight, that means (if found guilty) a two-year suspension (which would most likely end his career), worldwide doubt as to the outcome of the fight (which is happening now), worldwide ridicule (also happening now), implications in WWE, and on and on – an athlete with the ego of Lesnar (and solid advisers) wouldn’t knowingly (as you said, knowing what he was doing) plan that way just for the win when he contract openly stated he got paid the same whether win or lose. How guilty he is will come out but I think at most he felt he could get away with it but certainly don’t think (as you suggested) he planned to just get away with it until after the fight…not even for a second. Now Playing Up Next exactly, WWE let UFC use Brock at UFC200, now they get zero payout from all the advertising that UFC gave away to WWE in exchange. Why would WWE want to suspend him and loose the build for Summer Slam… WWE works in weird ways sometimes though. They may suspend him tomorrow and his 30 days are up before Summerslam. Hard to tell where they will sit on this one. 17 COMMENTS goddessroleplay I don’t think so Braun Strowman Brock Lesnar Takes WWE Universal Championship You mean the WWE that pays for all drug and alcohol rehabilitation costs for anyone who’s ever had a performer contract with them? The WWE that paid for multiple rounds of rehab for Chyna, Sunny, Jake Roberts, Scott Hall and many others?Yeah, so typical of them to run away, right? Dickhead. Jeffery Adam Phillips Wrestleview Weekly: SummerSlam weekend hangover and reviewing this week’s news Wow,what a statement by WWE (sarcasm)! That statement must’ve took a long time to come up with. goddessroleplay July 16, 2016 at 10:08 am July 16, 2016 at 12:46 am Well a drug test given by a girlfriend isn’t an official drug test in any way. UFC knows their stuff so if Brock tested positive for something, he’s most likely guilty. Now, you made a better point earlier that something banned by UFC may not be banned by WWE. We’ll have to wait & see if that’s the case. If it’s not something banned by WWE, only then would it be somewhat ok to let him compete at SummerSlam even though he’s still a doping cheater as far as MMA goes. But if it’s a substance banned by both companies, or even an illegal substance, and WWE deliberately overlooks it, then they’re the pro wrestling equivalent of James Comey and the rank & file of the WWE locker room should be up in arms over it.As far as Brock wanting to compete for UFC, well Lance Armstrong got away with cheating for years somehow and thought he’d never get caught either. Braun Strowman Still Not Cleared For Match Pinterest TheCyberZon July 16, 2016 at 3:25 pm July 17, 2016 at 2:43 pm Jeffery Adam Phillips Colby Twitter David Wells Now Playing Up Next I don’t think WWE let UFC fight have Brock for UFC200. More like Brock wanted to fight at UFC200 whether WWE liked it or not because they put him in a position to walk all over them. Google+ July 15, 2016 at 10:49 pm July 16, 2016 at 1:43 am Cameron Huff …So basically, “He’s not active, so there’s no reason to suspend him”? But then, that’s a the problem with a guy like Brock: He doesn’t wrestle a full schedule, so giving him a suspension is kinda pointless. So really, what are they supposed to do with him? July 16, 2016 at 6:29 pm July 16, 2016 at 8:07 am An argument I would make is why should WWE take another outside sources drug test over their own to punish him. For instance, if Jim Bob at walmart has a positive drug test his girlfriend gave him and everyone Knows he tested positive for that, would Walmart punish that employee for his girlfriends drug test, no, they would conduct there own and see if it goes against their own policy. Is it shitty Brock wont get in trouble for this as far as WWE is concerned? Absolutely, but lets keep in mind a few more things, Brock wants to be in UFC and if this goes thru this could be a death sentence for that dream. Even if WWE does Nothing to him on their end HE WILL BE PUNISHED FOR THIS. Now Playing Up Next So Roman Reigns gets suspended and Billy Gunn gets fired for failing drug tests, but nothing happens to Lesnar? What’s Up With That (ala The Hurricane)! WWE Smackdown Results – 8/13/19 (Reigns vs. Murphy, Randy Orton responds to Kofi Kingston) lesnar knew what he was doing. he had just one fight, so he juiced for it knowing that the drug test results wouldn’t come in until after the fight. July 15, 2016 at 11:55 pm What I’m wondering is does anyone know (based on their policy) of where it say’s whether Lesnar has already been paid his salary (not bonuses, but the main salary) or does UFC pay it much after the fight (I figured it would be already paid) and whether they typically take the purse from the fighter if they fail the test. i.e. I believe Hunt fought two others he failed afterwards, did they take their purse? The whole thing is a mess and not sure if Lesnar will be found guilty but it’s a catch 22 as Lesnar’s name more than doubled their draws for the PPV and helped the PPV draw big before their 4 billion sale of the company so it seems unfair that UFC still gets to make their revenue and yet they make Lesnar exempt from standard testing timelines / process and then also take his purse after using him to double their revenue from the PPV but just wondering what the normal guidelines are if anyone knows what’s happened in the past? Live Podcast: SummerSlam weekend hangover, recapping this week’s major headlines Colby well it does if all he cared about was redemption and going out on a win compared to the last time he fought and announced his retirement after his loss, then he would’nt care if the test came up positive. like nate said at his ufc 202 press conf in regards to jones testing positive again. ”everyone dopes” doping in mma is nothing shocking anymore, so when people hear about it now of days it like meh what else is new in the world. i don’t think he cares about getting suspended or else he wouldnt have done it. like i said he came back to fight for personal reasons than anything else. besides he makes alot more in the wwe per year than he ever did fighting in the ufc. all he has to do in the wwe is show up less than 2 months worth of days out of the year and get paid 5 millon per year. July 16, 2016 at 12:37 pm The King of Kings Brian Farmer Facebook One question i would have is would the banned substance caught by USADA be banned under the wellness policy as different sports/organizations ban different types of substances. For instance one vitamin that promotes the testosterone would be banned under the nfl but okay in the pga. So in other words, we’re going to do nothing about it other than sweep it under the rug and hope it’s forgotten about by SummerSlam. Brock Lesnar, the Hillary Clinton of WWE. One set of rules for him, a different set of rules for all the other schmucks who break their asses for WWE week in & week out. Great example you’re setting for the locker room there, Vince.
