first_imgArchitects sought for new Child and Family Learning Centres Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Education and TrainingSubmissions are being called for architects to design the new Child and Family Learning Centres (CFLCs) in Glenorchy, Kingborough and West Ulverstone.The three new Child and Family Learning Centres have been fast-tracked by the Tasmanian Liberal Government through a $7 million boost in funding in the 2020-21 State Budget, taking the total budget for six new CFLCs around the State to $28 million.Architects have already been appointed for the new CFLCs in East Tamar, Sorell and Waratah Wynyard.A child’s early years are the foundation for building the skills needed for lifelong learning, engagement and participation in all aspects of Tasmanian life.CFLCs offer a variety of critical services all in one place to support families with young children from birth to age five.The design of each of the new centres will be informed by a Local Enabling Group, comprising local community representatives, service providers and educators.The Local Enabling Groups will determine the facilities and services each CFLC will offer, tailored to the specific needs of the individual communities.Extensive community consultation has been undertaken for the new CFLCs and construction works are expected to commence on all six CFLCs over the next 12 months. /Public Release.
